Young Migrants Hub

The Young Migrants Hub is a holistic space for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) and Young Migrants aged 16 and over, seeking asylum in Haringey with an allocated worker in the Young Adults Service. We encourage peer support and provide a space for young people to settle into the UK.

The Hub provides informal education that includes a Youth Program; we cover many topics including:

  • creating a vision board
  • cooking and basic skills
  • healthy eating
  • the asylum process (with delivery partner)
  • social awareness
  • sleep hygiene
  • how to showcase your transferable skills and employability, delivered in partnership with Hays recruitment (new)
  • sexual health for woman and girls (new)

You can refer your young people to the Hub to make friends, share experiences and feel connected amongst their peer group. They can also join our lively WhatsApp group and online youth sessions. We offer open access sessions and targeted sessions that can be delivered face to face in small groups or online for larger groups.

We invite guest speakers to the Hub to share their expertise in areas such as 1-2-1 mentoring, the asylum process, and opportunities for Young Migrants across the borough and across London. Previous guests have included: Hope for the Young 1-1 Mentoring charity, Coram - children’s legal services, Breadwinners, Selby community center, Haringey Gold and the British Red Cross.

The autumn/winter programme is below, with further details to follow for 2022.
